Mixed Media
My mixed media images form the body of work called The Evolution of Snakes. Early works were hand carved miniature walking sticks made of European Hazel Nut (aka. Harry Lauder's Walking Stick) painted in a folk art manner. They have evolved into geometric designs on canvas some of which are inspired by the Lindisfarne Gospels with a subset called "Words to Live By", reminiscent of illuminated manuscripts. Materials include paper mache, beads, acrylic paint, gold or silver leaf and paper.
